यहां दुश्मनों के आक्रमण से बचने के लिए रक्षा चौकियां और तोपों के झरोखे तैयार किए गए हैं, जिनके चार अलग-अलग कोनों पर द्वार है। इस महल का खिजड़ी नामक द्वार इकलौता ऐसा मार्ग था, जो सीधे नदी की तरफ खुलता था। इसके साथ ही ग्वालियर गेट और दिल्ली गेट भी बहुत प्रख्यात लाल किले का हिस्सा है।
इस मस्जिद का निर्माण शाहजहाँ के द्वारा करवाया गया था जो की शाहजहाँ का निजी मंदिर था यह मोती मस्जिद के पास ही बना हुआ है.
